Nora Jacquez
Nora Jacquez has a Ph.D. in Spanish and is also an attorney. She has written a previous book of bilingual short stories entitled THE GREAT TAMALE WAR AND OTHER TALES. She has a book of poetry, PIECES OF LIGHT AND SHADOW, and a bilingual anthology of Latin American Women's poetry, OPEN TO THE SUN. She has published stories and articles in both the United States and Mexico.
Nora is also a storyteller. She has participated in storytelling festivals in both Mexico and the United States. She performed as an Artist in Residence at Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
Her life in Mexico and her travels around the world form the backdrop for many of her stories. This collection has stories from England, Sweden, Mexico and the United States. She is working on stories about life in Tasmania, Bali, Palestine , and the Galapagos Islands.
All the proceeds from her books are donated to causes dedicated to non-violence and social justice. They include the Network Lobby Group in Washington, D.C. and the Centro de Aprendizaje in Oaxaca, Mexico.
