Deborah Martinez Martinez
After retirement from Colorado State University at Pueblo, Deborah was an historical interpreter at El Pueblo History Museum, guiding visitors through a hands-on frontier experience in traditional dyeing. She is a descendent of settlers who came to Colorado from Arroyo Hondo, NM, in the mid-1860s to ranch in Cucharas, CO. Using her editorial skills, she began publishing books with her partner Robert Pacheco. They published seven books including Trade on the Taos Mountain Trail, a Colorado Book of the Year Finalist, authored by Deborah and illustrated by Robert. She is an active member of the Pueblo Cinco de Mayo Committee and the Fray Angelico Chavez genealogy chapter. She lives in Pueblo, Colorado.
